Make a Living List

The big "C" - what a frisson of fear it brings. Life threatening.

I found it useful to make a list of everyone I know – past and present – who have had cancer, and breast cancer in particular, noting how it turned out for them.

And, remember - cancer isn't one thing - everyone is diagnosed with their own variety and stage.

What was sobering is how easy it was to put a large number of names on the list. Including a number of members of my immediate family.

But what was encouraging was that my list of those who are living (especially after breast cancer) is much longer than the list of those who have died from their cancer.

There is hope. A good side to the ledger.

Note: And as someone has recently pointed out, I get to add my own name to the living list. (A secular) Hallejulah!
